I am struck, watching Angel, how drawn we (we, audiences? we, fandom? I am not sure) are to narratives of becoming. *nods* It is one of the reasons I love BtVS and AtS so very, very much - we follow these characters for such a long time and see them develop in such incredible ways, something that it is immensely satisfying! Especially because it's so well done. (Well, mostly... *g*)
