Today was brutal and fucked. Also kind, and a relief. Just one of those days.

I am now off to the last barn dance of the season. Then I will do an annoying concluding errand and then come home and do my [livejournal.com profile] novel_in_90 for this day that has just passed. But I tend to write at night so it's good enough.

Patty's first leter came, and it's gorgeous, with tiny little handwriting and pictures. She bought me honey, and I hope customs lets it into the country (or that she's sneaky) when she returns.

I have a letter to finish to her tonight to send with the latest sort of brief and lame fencing updates.

Also peopel I owe email to -- tonight, really. Now that certain other stressors have been eliminated.

I can't help with the brutal fucked-ness of the day, but I can offer you some reassurance about the honey!

Customs has no issue with Cypriot honey, or at least, they haven't had in the past. Honey, brandy, and the distinctive Cypriot cheese called something like houlemi, that doesn't melt when you grill it.

But they won't let you bring in potatoes, which I'm told is a tremendous pity because they're the best potatoes in the world. You just have to eat as many of those as you can while you're there.

Thank you! I will relay all of this to Patty. The honey is very important.

As long as the container is vacuum sealed or welded shut they'll let it in. My family sends us stuff from Greece all the time. And that cheese mentioned above is called halloumi. So yummy.
