The other big news is that I am the producer of and one of the writers on season 1 of Tremontaine, a 13-episode serial that is a prequel to Ellen Kushner's Swordspoint. Ellen, along with Malinda Lo, Alaya Dawn Johnson, Joel Derfner, Patty Bryant, and myself have created a series about the the rise of Diane, Duchess Tremontaine. The series also features Kaab, a foreign spy who is part of the city's merchant class; Micah, a farm girl who really, really likes math; and Rafe, a scholar who wants to change the world and irritate as many people as possible while doing it.
Swords, chocolate, and (generally quite queer) sex abound.
The first episode is free in both ebook and audio format. This week we're up to episode 4, but there's plenty of time to catch up, and you can go at your own pace.
The best place to subscribe is SerialBox.com where you get the ebook and audio versions of each episode for just $1.59 per week. Or you can buy the audio and ebook separately wherever you normally do those things on the Internet.

Be careful what you wish for…
When J. Alex Cook, a production assistant on The Fourth Estate (one of network TV’s hottest shows), is accidentally catapulted to stardom, he finds himself struggling to navigate both fame and a relationship with Paul, one of Fourth’s key writers. Despite their incendiary chemistry, Alex’s inexperience and the baggage they’re both carrying quickly lead to an ugly break-up.
Because the stars aren’t benign
Reeling from their broken hearts, Alex has an affair and Paul has an ill-advised reunion with an old flame. Meanwhile, the meddling of their colleagues, friends — and even the paparazzi! — quickly make Alex and Paul’s real life romance troubles the soap opera of the television season.
But while the entertainment value may be high, no one knows better than Alex and Paul that there are no guarantees when it comes to love in Los Angeles.

He’s been coming here a lot in the last year.
The beach is one of the only places he doesn’t get recognized,
if only because he appears to be one more pretty kid in a stupid beanie nursing unlikely dreams.
Fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. On September 10, discover the truth.

There’s nothing like a wedding to make things interesting, for the grooms, the wedding party, the family, the friends, and even the caterer!
Sean Michael’s Hammer Club favorites Billy and Montana are back in “Put a Ring On It”, a tale that begins with the celebration of their best friends’ first anniversary. In “Building Us,” by Lynn Townsend, Eric and Temple discover that, for want of a nail, a ring is lost. In “Hold Your Peace” by Lazuli Jones, Terrence’s best friend (and best man) Michael makes a confession hours before Terrence’s wedding. In “Tony’s Tiara” by Berengaria Brown, Tony’s sister’s wedding is a neverending saga of disasters, but Josh is there to support Tony through them all.
In “Having His Cake” by Genna Donaghy, Matty Strauss is about to cater the biggest wedding in his career, but the last thing he expects is for the groom to be his former one night stand. In “Always a Groomsman” by M. Durango, best men Doug and Garth have to keep a wedding-day disaster at bay. In “Lake Effect” by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese, Kyle and Daniel return to their hometown to get married only to find themselves facing an obstacle course of family drama and small-town misadventure in their quest to make it down the aisle.

They say a marriage tak
es work, but for these brides, getting to the altar may be the hardest part.
In “Frayed” by Alexandra Vaughn, Esther Goodwin’s first encounter with another girl ends almost as soon as it begins and it is several years before she allows herself to believe in love again. In “12,000 Hour Day” by Vrai Kaiser, Devon couldn’t be happier about the thought of being married to Sarah — it’s the planning she’s not sure she’ll survive! In “Her Dream Day”, by J. Chase, it’s the day before Alex and Sophia’s wedding, when the venue cancels, ruining their plans.

The anthologies will be available at major ebook retailers (they are already up on Amazon) as everyone's databases get updated, but that discount code won’t work there.
