Hrrrr. I'm listening to Current 93 for the first time (I know, I know!). It's astoundingly interesting, although I'm not sure if I actually like it. It's an astoundingly good fit for the universe of my novel though, which is also moderately surprising and odd.

It is raining here. And cold. Rejoice.

Through [livejournal.com profile] tsarina and her contact with a seemingly clueful-ish customer service person at LJ, I've emailed this person a long missive about what fandom is, hopefully translating some of the cultural things of our world that LJ hasn't appeared to understand. I have no idea if this will make a difference, but it was at least a more intellectual and less frustrating exercise than most of this ordeal has been.

My ankle is blue and large, but it is supporting my weight.

Patty comes home Tuesday. It is apparently cheaper to fly to Peru on short notice than to SFO. Not really sure what's up with that.

Work is now, finally, giving us sick days.

Current 93! I adore their version of "Tam Lin". But then, I am a Tam Lin junkie.

I liked All the Pretty Little Horses, and specifically The Blood Bells Chime.

Which album? There's quite a range in the material.

I don't think a lot of experimental music is made to be enjoyed or even liked. Its an experience or an exploration or an experiment... the listener is something of an afterthought. It has no beat but you can overdose to it.

Hahaha. Right now just the random stuff that LastFM is spitting out at me.

Some great stuff from this band. I think you'd like Soft Black Stars the best. But The Inmost Light trilogy (2 EPs and a full length CD) is also a selection that might appeal - and it's been re-released. I think Sleep Has His House is vastly under-rated.

I have all their CDs and gave money so the last one could be made. I have seen them live.

warning.... C93 is addictive. :)

I find myself in a perpetual state of tension between "BRILLIANT!" and "WTF?!!" when I listen to them. Slowly, it's all made me a devoted fan.

First track I listened to managed to work crazy Christian imagry, swasitkas and the most annoying vocals this side of The Decemberists (who, granted, I like) all into one track. And I liked it. Bit scary.
