How utterly bizarre. I'm assuming this doesn't work on deaf people, so I guess I have an advantage there. It still sounds dicey -- eg, what if the damn thing fries hearing aids, or pacemakers or something.

Indeed. I'm also betting we'll see the horribly annoying talking animated cereal boxes from Minority Report in under 5 years. Amazing new media tech arrives every year or two, and the early adopters are always advertising and porn.
