I went outside to get the mail and thought "This weather is creeping me out. It feels like tornado weather, but we can't have a tornado in november," and then I came inside and the news announced a tornado watch. Some days I'd prefer not to be right.
Yup. It totally can. They break up fast, but they can break windows and cause some damage. We've also have them pull up trees and cars and damage houses in the outer boroughs. It doesn't happen often, but it's very real.
Like the fact that, for mid-November, temps and humidity today have been positively incendiary? (Or maybe that's just me. Either way, ugh and eep and those sorts of things.)
Wow. That just blows my mind! We had severe thunderstorms on Election Eve this year...THAT was about as late as I can recall for severe (non-snow) weather in Minnesota.
This is freaky. I am now nestled into my living room with a glass of wine, thinking that the intermittent but torrential downpour that I found myself in earlier makes more sense now.
Err... in a witness sense, that is... on YouTube or something... not in real life... not that it wouldn't be filmed from real life... I'll shut up now.
(I really should be banished from the interweb when sleepy.)
The sky looked scary this afternoon in Philadelphia. Normally, when the clouds are moving fast, the sky is overcast with some distinguishable clouds.
Today was something I've never seen before. Not exactly cumulous, but still rather round clouds with sky showing between them, and going fast. Not intrinsically frightening (and shirtsleeve weather in mid-November!), but way out of the ordinary.
Yes...the weather has been acting a little strange these past few years, hasn't it? Last year we had a tornado watch in the the Chicago area...in January. I don't think I had ever seen that before.

Amazingly, Seattle was all blue skies and sunshine, in the middle of November. It was good marching weather.
