Wow. I certainly hope they are able to marry.

If discovered, they could have been court-martialed.

Tangential point, though: even if gay relationships had been allowed, they would have been in trouble for fraternization, since of them was an officer and the other under his command. (Issue solved when one of the men left the military.)
