- Patty is home and slowly getting rested again. I've seen her pneumonia x-rays (scary!) and we've gone out to dinner a bit. Mostly we just grin at each other a lot and are useless and cute. Tomorrow we have Passover with my parents and my suspicion that Barn Dance was Thursday is wrong; we're still trying to get up to speed on schedules:

Me: "When are you going to Atlanta?"
Her: "Something in the twenties."

Her: "Hey, our anniversary is soon."
Me: "What day is it?"
Her: "I'm not sure."
Me: "I can never remember either."
Her: "Well, it depends when we count from."
Me: "Yeah, and I still can't figure it out."

- Torchsong. Despite it being in Chicago and featuring JB, GDL and KO, I'm not going. It's tempting, don't get me wrong. Really, really tempting. But my strong suspicion that celeb-content only cons are bad for me remains. And speaking of schedules: ours are devils.

- I did have some weird dream about John Barrowman and Scott and their dogs last night and people telling me things they just shouldn't. What those things were, I no longer recall (although I remember recalling when I first woke up), but I remember feeling sad and overwhelmed at knowledge I did not wish to hold, and in the dream I emailed copperbadge about it, whose response was "Yeah, right," and bodlon who was sad and not wanting to hold that knowledge with me. Odd stuff. I hardly ever remember my dreams and celebrity guest appearances not usually part of the deal.

- I have a cold and my stomach is a little wonky.

Aw. Welcome back, Patty!

I'm giving Torchsong a miss, as well despite the fact that I gew up there and could stay with my BFF and see my godchildren and its my birthday and all. I didn't have as much fun as I could have at Hub2, and I think for my next con I would rather go to a multi-fandom con or at least a con with some writers, producers, academics, etc. There are only so many times one can hear GDL say he wants to play MacBeth or Kai tell us he loves food before it gets a little less interesting.

Yes, absolutely. And we really felt that we wanted to see Atlanta this time, as last time we saw the con hotels, the four blocks between the con hotels, and a random strip of shops where I bought boots in a panic after I packed the right foot of two different pairs.
