rm Allergies or a cold or something. I feel awful (menstruation isn't helping) and have a long day of work ahead of me.
We saw Cirque du Soleil's Kooza last night. So fucking cool. I'd never been before and was seriously, seriously taken with it. Biggest surprise for me was how much I enjoyed the clowning, as that's not usually my sort of thing. Loved the tricks, loved the sets, loved the costumes, surprisingly loved the narrative and was really enchanted with how dark the show was (despite the fact that it was the least dark when they were clearly all running around in the underworld). Smart, smart stuff and really surprisingly sexy -- and I don't just mean the contortionists; there was a lot of charisma on that stage.
Oh, dates for Amma in NYC have been announced. Yes, I will probably go again, even as the wtf novelty of the thing has sort of worn off. It's not just this thing I do, and hey, why not?
After I finish all my damn work today, hopefully I can get the next chunk of Enough to Go By back to Kali. I am the evil slow writer right now. I also have a short Jack/Ianto fic that needs finishing and a 19th Centry, Jack in America fic I need to write. I've got some other half done fic on my desktop, but I don't think any of that is likely to get looked at tonight.

Date: 2009-04-29 03:04 pm (UTC)My reaction exactly to Corteo last year: "Hot DAMN that's a sexy troupe." Charisma is the right word.

Date: 2009-04-29 03:47 pm (UTC)There was an acrobat that I thought was just insanely hot, although how I could tell him apart from the others, I've no idea.

Date: 2009-04-29 03:54 pm (UTC)I saw the first time the Cirq came to the US in Santa Monica and loved it (had the guy who did the rings to classical music and was him 'flying' - it was incredible). I also saw teh show that was basically about ghosts (forgot the name but it was great), but the last several on my side of the continent I've not much liked. The ones that looked good haven't come 'round here. :(

Date: 2009-04-29 07:33 pm (UTC)I believe I was 12. It was one of their first touring shows, Nouvelle Expérience. And it was the guy with the "aerial straps" - of black leather.
It ended up being part and parcel of my secret love for all stompy things that did not take wing until I was in my 20s, to which you were witness as I thrashed and sighed and crumbled all over the place.
I wish I knew what happened to that guy.

It never fails to be seriously weird business.
