OMG... that's... so fucked up!

Well, I don't think I'll be repurchasing an paid account if that's the kind of third hand endorsement they're getting.

See the second link -- the staff's on it. If it's resolved fast -- new and impressive.

I'm really happy about the speed of the reply on the NOM banner.

Glad they seem to be on it and getting rid of it.

I'm even more glad for redsonja.dreamwidth.org :D

This is definitely a reason I'm happy that Dreamwidth has no plans to be ad supported. (And, yes, also happy I have a permanent account so I don't see ads on LJ anyway.)

Good of LJ to be getting on that.

One of the reasons I keep paying for a paid LJ account year after year is so I don't have to see ads, which irks me considering that LJ had no plans to be ad supported, either. *grrrrr*

I had done a feedback post to LJ and I got this back:

Thank you for contacting us about this matter. This advertisement was not contracted directly with LiveJournal, but is likely the result of an organization purchasing an advertising campaign with a third-party advertisement service. We have received several reports regarding this ad and are in the process of locating it in order to have it removed; we apologize for any frustration this may have caused. The views in this advertisement do not represent the views of LiveJournal, Inc., and we're working to remove it as quickly as possible. Should you or anyone you know see this ad or similar ads again, could you please reply to this ticket with a description of the ad (whether it's a banner ad across the top of the page, or a square ad on the side, the name of the organization, etc.), where you saw the ad (your journal page, your friends page, or a different site page), a link to a screenshot of the ad, or the direct URL of the advertisement (if you right-click on the ad, you can copy the URL from the location by using "properties"). This will assist us in removing it more quickly. MartaLiveJournal, Inc.

Indeed, I was quite impressed to see that. I hope actions like that help stop the flight to DW, I'm not eager to see the lj community split.

Ah, you caught my phrasing.

No battle plan survives the encounter with the enemy. In this case, the enemy is financing. However, if they stay with the invite codes, and stay relatively small, they might avoid this fate.
