This is blown up from a contact sheet, so obviously the real one will be sharper, clearer and retouched. This is so me. (I'm probably ordering 3 shots -- this one, which is my "heh, the universe is funny" smirk, a grinning one, and then something or other that's yet to be ascertained. I'll probably post 5 or 6 in an effort to figure it out though).

A definite yes

BTW, my photog was Jinsey Dauk (http://www.jinsey.com), and if you need headshots you should go to her and tell her I referred you.

<startles.>

it is really you. it's also so completely adandn utterly different from any other shot you've ever taken that i've seen that.. i don't think i can even form an opinion yet.

..hm. actually. off the top of my head.. it's just as, if not more approachable as the striped-sweater pictures, but in a more.. regal, adult, and yet softer way. if that makes any sense at all.

Now I just have to learn how to do that myself.
I so want a hair and makeup person daily.
Hell, I'd settle for just the hair.

Thank you!

And this is what happens when I pay them instead of them paying me!

And yes, it does make sense, and that's good to hear. I read your comment and I looked at it again, and just sort of nodded -- ages ago I was on this kick about the one word people wanted to be described as, and I said complete -- I think this one nails it.

Of course, because I'm in the throes of this process, I'll probably change my mind 100 times along the way.

I want that and a live-in trainer, too... It's another one of those "When I win the lottery" things.

Oh, I like that. It's got a sort of late thirties feel to it.

That's very different from any picture I've seen of you so far. And it is lovely.

That is a great hairstyle on you, too.

Thank you, thank you.
Yeah, I was sort of shocked by that -- both in terms of the hairstyle and the way my eyes are in the entire shoot.

Thank you! I just have to figure out the hair on my own now, actually.
I keep buying hairproducts lately, but I have to give in and just buy the Creative Genius thing that the roomie uses -- the two times I used it it was perfect. Stupid expensive though. And the name makes me giggle. Lots.

I am on a dangerous hairproduct jag myself right now, so please share about Creative Genius. I can already tell I'd pay money just to have the brand in my bathroom, dammit.

It's one of the Bed Head ones. It's blue and the bottle is ridiculous.
But it's called Creative Genius.
And it holds my evil hair.
Of course, it makes it really stiff and crackly, but you can't tell, so that's just fine with me.

Btw, Texture, which I bought because it came in a nice white bottle with groovy typography is resoundingly mediocre.

Love the 'do too. The look reminds me of something like "I've got a secret, and if you're a good boy/girl, maybe I'll tell you..." Very lovely - shows off all of your features well :)

I am such a sucker for packaging. I know L'Oreal hairstuff is great, for instance, but the colors and type just pain me. Rusk, on the other hand...I want to fall asleep draped on their bottles.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease "Cool Moves" alcohol-free wax has changed my life, for what it's worth. No crackliness, no frizz, but it is a bit sticky. And I'm embarrassed to tell anyone my hairproduct is called "Cool Moves".

Cool, cool, I will keep you in mind as final plans come together. I will be staying at 56th and Lex and then in Spuyten Duyvil. I can't remember where you are but it sounds as if you travel daily.

I know it's an unoriginal response, but since it's what I said outloud when the headshot first appeared on my screen, I'll repeat in writing here.

Wow.

I'm always running around. Where you're staying is easy for me to get to -- at least until that Spurten Duyvil business.

And yeah, I've been writing captions in my head for it.

It's funny, because until I blew this one up, I was "eh" about it, but knew the smirk reflected me well -- when I saw it larger, I was like "oh my god, that's _the_ shot". I mean, I'll have two or three, and then you get into this thing about which to send to what. But I saw this and saw the future. Good feeling.
