Dear Yuletide Santa
Dear Yuletide Santa,
You are already awesome. In fact, unless you're really mean and kick puppies or something, you became awesome long before you ever signed up for Yuletide. But hey, you did, and now you're writing me a story, which means YOU ARE EVEN MORE AWESOME, and I hope you don't kick puppies.
I was sort of doing my Yuletide signup in a rush, so this is my attempt to be more specific, but first, let me start by being more general!
First, you can be as smutty as you want to be when writing for me. You can also be as gen as you want to be, since each thing I requested has both lots of pairings I find totally hot and worlds that fascinate me, so porn, no porn, all good.
THAT SAID, if you want to write porn my kinks on paper include: breath-play, intense BDSM with good/sweet/caring/encouraging aftercare, service/use, orgasm denial, edging, prostate milking, 3somes/moresomes, consenting drunk/high/otherwise altered sex, and really just about anything you can convince me is in character other than scat/vomit/vore. Yes, that means that if golden showers is your thing and you can write it well, have at. Dub-con where everyone is okay with what happened at the end, AOK; but non-con, not my thing. It's also worth noting I'm happy to read M/M or F/F, but tend to un-prefer explicit M/F unless it's kinky or part of a threesome/moresome or poly arrangement.
Non-sex related things I love in stories: a feeling of reality -- I like specifics, awkwardness, imperfections, people who try and sometimes succeed (even often, but not always). I like heroism in the hard-choices + dumb bravery = one hell of an effort sort of way. I like tragedy when it honors the characters, when even loss feels like love.
Things I really don't like: OOC schmoop -- this includes nicknames no one in canon would ever use (yeah, hi, I come from Torchwood fandom, if you know it, you know what I mean); also not a huge fan of PWP that doesn't include either plot or character analysis.
Now, onto my specific requests:
Flyboys -- OMG, are you writing me this? I am so so so desperate for some good fic out of this. Slash slash slash please. Filthy and tragic. I'd particularly dig on a Cassidy/Rawlings story, but a Black Falcon backstory piece would be totally rad too. In all fairness, you should probably know I know a lot about the era and planes and uniforms and crap like that. Crazy accuracy is not necessary, but I really love the period, and the more research and reality of the time you can put into this, the happier I'll be.
His Dark Materials -- Okay, you know what I said about M/F? I will totally read Asriel/Mrs. Coulter regardless of kink or involvement of other parties (but hey, wouldn't Asriel/Mrs. Coulter/OC be hot? You know it would! Maybe with pegging. Okay, if you don't write this, maybe I have to write this myself.) ANYWAY... I love this world. Gen in this world could also make me totally happy. Also, I really do mean any characters. You want to write about Balthamos? I am so there. The witches? Down with that too. Bring the Oxford that is not alive to me and you can get away with pretty much anything for me.
Swordspoint -- Oh, hi there. Okay. So here's what you need to know, if you're going to write me Richard/ALec, I'd really appreciate it having at least a moderately happy, gracious ending (and look, I consider a Torchwood Jack/Ianto fic I co-wrote where Ianto dies at the end to have a happy ending, because everyone knew they were loved, so happy is a lose idea around here), because my partner and I met through Swordspoint fandom and the first time we met in person a random oddball in a bar asked me if he'd be real if I stabbed him. So don't fuck Richard and Alec up any more than they already are, please. Now, you want to write something fucked up? I could really do with some unspeakably filthy Basil/Theron. Playing in the Heyer-esque with swords and fucking world of the ladies of TPotS also totally welcome.
Torchwood - RPF -- Yeah, I went there. Maybe you're going there too. That's awesome. I'm a big defender of RPF; however, I have a things that I'd appreciate you keeping in mind for my comfort: First, no RTD or Moffett or Eve Myles or whoever bashing, I'm just not interested. If you must know, I more or less liked CoE, even though it broke my heart. Second, nothing explicit involving the writers or other behind the camera people because I either don't care or there are reasons why if you pulled the right name out of the hat that would be BEYOND awkward for me and no one wants an awkward turtle that big! Third, I'd prefer that RL partners either be kept off-screen or, if on-screen, be involved in whatever shenanigans an informed/consenting/possibly participatory way. Jealousy isn't a plot that turns me on mentally or physically, and if you have to break up a couple to make your plot go, I'd prefer it to be a mutual decision on the couple's part. Of course, after all of that, I have to tell you, I just love backstage stories. I love the way acting fucks people up. I love the way getting paid to be someone else means sometimes you're no one or wind up feeling like you're in love with someone you're not in love with even when the camera is turned off. I love how stories make us more at the same time they make us lost and less. I asked for RPF because I love backstage stories because I live a backstage life. Sex, no sex, I don't care, I just want all the heartbreak and glory of what this show could have put the people in it through in the universe next door. Crossovers with the rest of the Whoniverse SO TOTALLY WELCOME. Pre-CoE/Post-CoE/hypothetical future shoots all welcome.
