I don't do well when travel is up in the air.

On the plus side, some things have been firmed up: Patty won't be coming to Dragon*Con due to comps (I suppose I should contact D*C and see if I can get her guest badge transferred to someone else), and I'll be rooming the Sheraton with 51stcenturyfox and amand_r. No matter how much I try to get out of the Sheraton, it pulls me back in.

We've also agreed we should strategize Chicago sooner rather than later to take advantage of ridiculous cheap fares that sometimes pop up.

Patty will go home to Ohio at some point that probably overlaps with me being in the UK.

Hey, it's more than I knew for sure yesterday, and allows me to buy plane tickets, which will make me feel better.

As mentioned last night, Patty may have a lead on accommodations. Thoughts on Canton (Cardiff), anyone, anyone?

Last night Patty and I tried a new Indian place. Plus side: they totally made me something that wasn't on the menu. Downside: good, but no where close to UK levels of good. I have... feelings about military service academies that I don't articulate often.

Though I've known many awesome people who've been through academies, I think the culture of being simultaneously hazed and abused and then told you're elite and amazing produces some weird effects once grads enter regular military life.
