I think the problem with David B.'s acting is that Buffy was his first time acting ever. he was learning on the job and he started to get the hang of it at some point during the run of angel. I've seen him do beautiful things nuance wise on Bones with what is essentially the same character with a different back story. he really only plays the one character, but he did get good at it eventually.
It's at least the third Demon pregnancy for Cordelia. It's like she took the flaw "demon baby seed magnet" during chargen.
