IMMEDIATE NEED: Suicide prevention-resources/help-lines in Finland?

ETA: THANK YOU. Person has been in contact with family which has now gone to their place, so they seem to be safe. Thank you again.

Info needed ASAP for an LJ'er.

They are having a hard time finding available resource to call on a Sunday night at 9pm there.

I figure there's 1,200 of you all over the place, anyone know anything. People are totally on the Google, so we're sort of looking for locals with better info than we can find.

In most of Europe, the local equivalent of 911 (I don't know what it is in Finland) will take people who're considering suicide to a psychiatric hospital immediately. Not sure if the person in question would want that, but I know at least one person who's life was saved that way. (They were admitted overnight and then released the next day with meds and follow-up appointments.)

That's one of the options we're trying to get them to pursue. Thank you for repsonding.

I looked up the Samaritans helpline for Finland. It's not just suicide prevention, more of a general crisis thing, but suicide is one of the things they're trained for. (I'd assume it'd be the same in Finland.)

Yup, passed that one along. Don't know if the person in need has tried it yet. A bunch of resources got posted to them at once, although I am hoping we hear something more soon.

Thank you!
