this never gets easier

Just put Patty on her train to Cardiff, and I'm on mine to Heathrow.

Despite a tube strike and more traffic than I can possibly describe, we had a not horrible or horribly expensive cab ride to Paddington. So far so good.

She'll be home in three weeks-ish (stuff! we'll know! soon!) and I'll have good Internet again and we can video chat and all that, but it's still always hard when we have to part.

We make it look good though.

long distance is tough

(we did it when we were young and lived in different countries before we got married - okay, 18 years ago now.. we had to make do with 20 minute telephone call once a week - no video calls then)

Luckily we're only long-distance part time, but things are particularly travel intensive right now. Which reminds me, I should go see if my gate's been posted!
