the broader update
Sep. 1st, 2007 10:15 amSo to say life has been moderately strange lately would be the unerstatement of all time. The universe where I get up in the morning, work on Law & Order for three hours, make a call to find out when a play of mine is being produced, and then get a book contract all in a single day is so unlikely as to be absurd.
Today on what seems like the most beautiful day of the year (and New Yorkers know it as World Trade Center weather) we're off to Coney Island for Edie's birthday bash on the beach.
Right now though I should be working on the book. In the name of procrastination that pretends to work on the book, I just googled myself on Amazon, and found the following things come up under my name:
- a public relations and marketing text that I'm profiled in for about a page.
- a speculation book on HP6:HBP in which I am thanked in the acknowledgements
- my father's bible, which is dedicated to my mom and I
- a book on girls' school in which I am in the acknowledgements, but not quoted as her thesis was "single-sex education is good" and I was like "woah, bad crazy!" about my own experience
- a book of break-up letters in which something I submitted was accepted for publication but never appeared, despite it being listed in the permissions section at the back.
What doesn't show up under my name? The anthology I have a short story in. And the trivia book won't be up until next week.
