dear patrons of the pioneer theatre,

I know it feels like your living room. I know that many of you probably have TVs bigger than the screen. And, I know that you're really cool and into indie film and all and so much above it all, BUT there are a few simple things I ask of you.

First, choose a seat, and stay in it. If you feel the need to change seats, please do so before the film begins. If you cannot manage this, at least just change seats _once_ during the film. Certainly, if nothing else, you can refrain from giggling like a pair of inept bullies desperately trying to disrupt a game of musical chairs while the film is in progress.

And please, don't laugh during Medea. It just doesn't work. There were a few moments where I understood the impulse, believe you me, but giggling throughout the entire film, pausing only to eat popcorn and make out, NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Thank you.

The Angelika could use one of these, posted to the front door as you walk in. I still remember how disgraceful the Far From Heaven audience was.
