Keillor has always been an ardent anti-conservative-bullshit guy, something that seems to have escaped general notice beneath the common misconception that he "celebrates" "middle-American values". It's well worth tracking down the essay collection We Are Still Married, not just because it is very funny but because of the anti-Reagan/Bush essay "A Liberal Reaches for Her Whip" and the Quayle-mocking essay "He Didn't Go to Canada".
