I've not, but I will before I go. I find taking phots interferes with my ability to observe a place and so I don't ever take them on my first visit to any thing.
There's a whole story waiting to be written about that cat. That piece of writing about him touched me immensely :O) In fact, I just Googled on him and found the following:
Trim was the ship's cat that helped Matthew Flinders map Australia. He was the first cat to circumnavigate Australia (1801-1803).
Trim was born in 1799, aboard HMS Reliance, on passage from Cape of Good Hope to Botany Bay. Matthew Flinders, a young British officer, noticed how brave and clever the kitten was. When Trim fell overboard, he swam back and climbed a rope aboard. He was a favourite with all the crew.
Trim was black, with white paws, chin and chest. He was named after the butler in Laurence Sterne's Tristram Shandy, because he was such a faithful, affectionate friend.
Trim sailed with Flinders on the Investigator on his around Australia mapping voyage. Previously Australia was considered to be a number of islands. Flinders named Australia.
On his way back to England on the Cumberland, Flinders called into Mauritius for repairs. All on board were imprisoned by the French, accused of being spies. Trim was locked up with his master, only to be confiscated by a French woman for her little daughter. A fortnight later Trim disappeared forever. Flinders was imprisoned for seven years. He died in 1814 aged 40.
In 1996 a bronze statue to Captain Matthew Flinders cat Trim was erected on the windowsill of the Mitchell Library on Macquarie Street, Sydney, just behind his master.
The Library Shop (State Library of NSW), has developed a range of Trim merchandise, including bronze replicas of the statue, key rings, brooches, shirts and caps.
