(no subject)

Got a gorgeous expensive haircut for free this morning, and so I feel pretty right with the world.

Also doing this linguistics study, where I have to do 3 ten minute phone calls on random topics, but it's $10 a call and stupidly easy. They _really_ need men in the study (mostly women have signed up). If you want to make some quick beer money go to: http://www.ldc.upenn.edu/Fisher/ to sign up, and please put in 62006 as your referral code when you sign up. (Women can still sign up too, but they made a special note about needing men for the study).

Nifty.

I signed up, we'll see how it goes.

However, they apparently only operate from 2p-midnight. Most of my workday is within that period but hopefully I can partake of the late night stuff.

Just wish they had a late morning option...that would have been perfect!

When you get your confirmation email, it will also give you instructions for dialing into the system when you have available time -- so you can call in during their hours whenever works for you to do your calls.

I was surprised how fast they responded, and I was just reading about that.

Also read over their list of topics...they've got some good ones to get started with!

Mine today was on censorship and the random person they had me speaking to graduated from the same high school I did ten years after I did.

I got a call tonight on censorship also. The person I spoke to had just move from the D/FW area a couple of weeks ago!

10 mins was just not enough, we got on a roll very quick. She sends her oldest child to a private Christian Academy, and when censorship in school libraries concerning Harry Potter came up we had a LOT to talk about!
