Schro is fine; the Internet however may now be broken

When I get my donation back, I'll be giving it to the local no-kill rescue group through which I got my cats.

I'm sorry for being part of this spiral of absurdity.

You shouldn't apologize; you did what you thought was right.

It probably would have been better if she'd kept her mouth shut and used the money to play the ponies or something. There will be a lot of people who'll think twice now before helping someone who claims to be in need.

Holy Christ, that's so fucking unreal. I actually have just read through it about ten times and I'm like "This cannot be seriously happening." Just, never has what the fuck been more appropriate. I am baffled. BAFFLED.

Has she made arrangements to return the money?

Regardless, what she did was a crime. And I mean that literally. I hope someone alerted the authorities in her area.

Hullooo! Found you through [livejournal.com profile] nissa. Got taken in by this story, too, but not enough to give the bitch money...

You have nothing to apologise for

You only did what many of us also did-tried to spread a little compassion and light in the word and help someone in need. I just hope this con artist doesn't hurt a truly deserving person ( or animal's) chance to be helped.
