Sadly, I have a friend who got a gig at Google about two weeks ago. Turns out it's run by supergenius college grads with PhD's...who have the maturity of 14-year-old boys, but fewer dating prospects.

Every day you get out of bed and go to an audition of any sort is a victory; I'd still be in bed, covers firmly over my head. I get far too nervous and my lines come out as one word each. Thus, I did a lot of backstage work and then eventually went into computers. They also expect you to know your lines, but they're patient if you forget.

Anyway, the gist of the rambling post is that you're braver than you think.
