What my dad said: "You don't need to tell us so much about your life" What my mom said: nothing, ever, though she did point out a women once or twice and say she thought she was pretty (in a different way than she would have before, more like how she often does with guys)
I think there's a weird subset of parents that that's the best they can do, NOT take it poorly.
