Too bad I'd have to live to be 150 to even begin to do all the things I want to do. Being an academic doesn't seem like part of the plan.

1) With luck, both of us will, the tech to do so seem likely to exist in 10-20 years.

2) One needn't be an academic to publish a book on pop-culture analysis designed for the general public. Given the market for such things, if you could turn it into an analysis suitable for public consumption, you might well have something that could be both fun and profitable to do and would take far less time and trouble than becoming an academic.
