Skin may be the worst program I have ever watched. I mean, it's laughably bad.

For starts, it's like someone put Baz Luhrmann's R+J in a blender with The OC and Law and Order, and then said, "hey, but let's remove any actual design elements, because they might be distracting."

Then, they realized, that since sex sells they should make it overtly about porn.

And, since this is America, they should make it about Porn Being Evil and forcing millions of parents to get up twenty minutes early every day to delete hardcore images off their children's computers, and the woe this causes. Remarkably, this is not an exageration, but something from the script.

The script! Oh my God. Exposition! "Porn is bad. It's a violence against us. And it's my campaign issue." And that's the good dialogue.

And with one exception the acting is so bad it hurts. Like... why aren't I on TV? These wooden wooden freaks!

Anyway, the whole thing is an absolute poster-child for American neuroses about sex, the ubiquity of Law and Order and our misguided belief that quick-cut, dizzying editing can turn anything into art. Well it fucking can't.

It's so bad, you almost have to tune in though. Really. Wow.

I would tune in, but HIS FATHER IS THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY.

So, I shall not. Damn, it is depressing when a fine actor (Ron Silver) has to take a job like this to pay the mortgage.

I had a friend in junior high and high school whose father owned at least one porn shop in the Philadelphia area. Sadly, this friend was not a hot babe (as on Skin), but a nebbishy (albeit smart and funny) guy who made me look cool by comparison. He did take a good deal of abuse for what his father did for a living.

Wow - the cheesy Tivo preview made it look fairly bad and very much like something that might possibly work as a movie but would be totally a hopeless TV series. However, it also looked like porn would at least be presented in a slightly non-judgmental light. Throw in what sounds like lots of

Wow - the cheesy Tivo preview made it look fairly bad and very much like something that might possibly work as a movie but would be totally a hopeless TV series. However, it also looked like porn would at least be presented in a slightly non-judgmental light. Throw in what sounds like lots of <em"porn is evil"</em> nonsense and it sounds completely irredeemable.

You know, I'd been keeping an eye out for that one, but I totally forgot about it in favour of looking forward to Tru Calling. I limit my television programs to Trading Spaces, Extreme Makeover and the Style Network.

I like bad TV

I kind of liked the Romeo & Juliet references, and I kind of liked the fact that the porn guy is the hero.

I think the bad dialogue is part of an elaborate inside joke.

That's why Trix is for kids!

I tuned in because I had some time to kill; funny, I can't remember what I was killing time for. I probably forgot because of how horrible this frickin' series was. Let's see...two dates=LOVE?? Then again, that is how some of my friends felt at that age.

Still, not even Ginger Lynn could save this schlock.
