go, go, SuperShuttle, go!

I love SuperShuttle because they are cheap.
I just have to keep telling myself it's not their fault they are picking me up at 3:40 in the morning.
But hey, $22 to Newark!

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow. 3:40 is possibly the worst time that it could be. Later would, obviously, be nice, and earlier would mean you just wouldn't go to bed that night, but 3:40? It's in that awful middle zone. I hope everything but the time is nice, though!

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
And I'll be at an unveiling all day. I think when I get home, I will nap and then finish up work and packing and go from there. As I don't want to get up at 3am and be staggering around.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a good plan. Especially since I'm sure you'll have a really long day once you get to NO, so you definitely will need some sleep.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I've sort of built nap time into that day and Thursday too, so I think it will be okay.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice. More cons should include nap time, I feel.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. And woe be to anyone who thinks otherwise.

I just bought my swimsuit too.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool! I don't think I'm going to buy a new one this year, as mine from last year (or possibly two years ago, I don't remember, but it's not like I've changed sizes) is still good, and I like the design. What did you get?

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I couldn't find my old one, which I didn't like that much anyway. A really bright purple bikini with boy shorts from Old Navy. Honestly, when this money thign gets resolved if it's still early enough in the season, I'll get a real suit from Speedo. I really like their bikini's because they are sexy yet totally butch. I was deeply underwhelmed with the choice at Old Navy, but dude, heated pool at hotel, it just didn't matter.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds nice, plus a heated pool is excellent.

I usually don't buy bikinis, because they have a tendency to not stay on if I try diving or swimming laps, but I've never tried Speedo's, and I suspect they might make ones with a better fit.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
They are skin tight and totally swimable in. It's like their regular suits with the middle cut out, but they're like $90.

I don't dive, so in a pool a halter top bikini is fine for me. In the ocean I have to be more careful.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's awesome. I've wanted a bikini for a while, but I couldn't really countenance buying a suit just for lounging out of the pool. And that's not a terrible price if you use the suit for more than a year.

True. Though at least in the ocean, if you do lose your top, you can stay under the water until you find. That doesn't really work in a pool, since the water's clear.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehehe, true. In the ocean, you just have to hope you find it is all.

And yeah, if I had cash flow right now -- the price isn't bad at all. I used to have one years ago, but I wore it out.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, with a stomach like yours, you should really, really have a bikini.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. Well, I'd say the same to you, but clearly you've already bought one, so, um... Good job!

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha. Thank you.

I feel like I should wave my arms around virtually and be all like "look, look, awkward long distance lesbians, OVER HERE -----> x"

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
*grins* I do wonder how many people notice these massive comments threads. I mean, I rarely look at the comments to someone else's post unless I'm going to comment myself, but whoa. We are so not subtle.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Were we trying to be?

All I know is that [livejournal.com profile] miep reads them, because she's known me forever and used to be scared of me and so is perversely amused when I'm being cute.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, not really. I just feel silly (in a good way, I mean) to be commenting on your stomach in a vaguely public location.

Hee.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehehe, well yes. And I'm at work! But since they are not actively paying me at the moment, I feel less guilty about breaking for lesbianism.

[identity profile] wordsofastory.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I love the various nefarious uses you put your work to. Delivering weapons, lesbianism...

[identity profile] miep.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
you weren't supposed to tell!

busted.

[identity profile] ladyofthelog.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Aww, you two are cute!

I always wonder if I *should* read the massively long comment threads or skip over them to give you privacy.

[identity profile] miep.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I am giggling. I have never pictured you in a swimsuit. ever.

[identity profile] miep.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
um, what is an unveiling? really, I want to know. Cuz I'm picturing brides and women in hijab ritually removing their veils to a lot of chanting...

[identity profile] fremen-dancer.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. One of my sweeties and our roomie worked for SuperShuttle's reservation center.

[identity profile] miep.livejournal.com 2007-05-14 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
i need to start using the phrase "breaking for lesbianism"

[identity profile] schpahky.livejournal.com 2007-05-15 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
How about "break-dancing for lesbianism"?

[identity profile] stakebait.livejournal.com 2007-05-24 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
I had a SuperShuttle nightmare experience once and haven't gone back since, though previously they had always been fine. I'm hooked on the AirTrain to Newark, though I dunno if it runs at OMG a.m.

[identity profile] rm.livejournal.com 2007-05-24 05:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't, alas. SuperShuttle seems to be fine as long as you book online. It's the people on teh phone who suck.

[identity profile] stakebait.livejournal.com 2007-05-25 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
This was a psycho driver, but I suppose that could happen anywhere.
