Below the cut is a photo of me from Phoenix Rising from the St. Petersburg Times. Note the "cq from subject" after my name. IT'S REALLY MY NAME. MY PARENTS NAMED ME THIS. UGH UGH UGH.

your name sounds so pretty... what does racheline mean? (reminds me a bit of neil gaiman's coraline :D)

Thank you. It means my mother wanted to name me Rachel and my father thought it was boring.

Please tell your father I'm insulted. ^_^

The picture is gorgeous. I just love how they left the CQ in there.

I couldn't read the fine print this morning, sun blindness ... but .... that is YOU, how cool :-)

It's a far more interestingly composed photograph than I would have expected.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does 'cq' mean?

Date: 2007-05-28 02:15 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rm.livejournal.com
It means that they checked my name and that it really should be spelled like that, but it also sort of comes off, when left in the story by accident like that "well, that's what she said".

Ah, a journalism term used like (sic), and one that possibly shouldn't have made it to print?

Exactly.

That's a super great pic of you. Is that cq thing like an editor's mark or something?

Yup, meaning "this weird thing is really spelling like this, we swear, so copyeditor, leave it alone."

The journalist interviewed Me too when He was being interviewed but she didnt use anything I said.. there is a great picture of the two of Us though and the shadow of the statue by the church but yours is very cool.

I saw. Yours is awesome. They had a great photographer!

I stayed away from the media a lot, because my HP thing is very personal to me, and I was in no position to speak eruditely about it while actually dressed as Snape, but at the jewelry thing it seemed harmless enough.

I dont blame you. That photographer was really in Our faces the whole time. Must have taken about thirty shots of the two of Us alone and Ive had bad experiences with the media before so am wary too.

I am generally not wary of the media since I used to be the media, but when even my friends misunderstand the Snape thing no matter how many times I explain it, I'm very cagey about it, in some ways less out of concern for myself than this thign that has given me so much.

Thanks. I imagine you do. There really needs to be more written about the fanish experience (other than the fun and the melodrama) by fandom itself.

Yes there should. I didnt even get a chance to say what it meant to Me when I was called in to do that Leaky Cauldron filming thing that afternoon which annoyed Me.

How is your given name pronounced? (I worry a lot about how to pronounce someone's name, even if it's just in my head, because I'm so used to having my own name butchered.)

And every time I see your last name, I think of this guy.

That really is a splendid photograph of you (though I have to admit my first thought was 'where's your face?' Heh. Don't mind me...).

And I quite happen to like your name.

I love how your eye sort of leaps out of the background.

Ha, once again you steal the photo from everything else... in this case the bracelet.

If you don't like your name, change it! I did. But not to baronalejandro or anything like that. ;-)

*snicker* I think it's a terribly nifty photo, and of course I love your name.
