Thank you for posting this. That area of Connecticut is the land of my family and I remember walking by those very modest summer houses and standing on spits of land that would be invisible when the tide came in. I'm heartbroken they are thinking of a casino, although I guess this is the way of the world.
progress just fucking blows. and as someone who finished appraisal courses on 'highest and best use' most of the time it's all a crock to take land from people who have more rights than they may know about.
