I'm really, really excited about this development. I was an Egyptology nerd for years, so this is some really cool stuff!

Wow, that's very cool. I always found Hatshepsut fascinating. Embarrassingly, I was prompted to learn about her from watching the fairly bad TV show called Isis (which was a spinoff of Captain Marvel which was even worse) when I was a kid. (The intro to the show referenced Hatshepsut by name). Took me forever to figure out how her name was spelled though.

OMG Hattie! I am so excited about this.

I still remember the cover of the little book about her that I had as a kid. Its title was His Majesty Queen Hatshepsut

I've had a bit of a *thing* for her ever since.

Also, I have something else funny to tell you in email about all this.

Hatshepsut High Five!

I wrote a report on her in 5th Grade.

I never lost the love, either.

*Hatshepsut-related squeeing*

Also, "by Hatshepsut's beard!" is a very satisfying oath.

I remember Isis! I think I still might have an issue of the related comic book somewhere too. (No, my mother didn't throw away my comic books, but there's no hidden gold mine there because I actually read mine. Frequently.)

I picked up Egyptology stuff from my mother. It was quite a thing when the Tutankhamen exhibit was touring the U.S., but living in Alaska there was no chance we were going to get to see it.

how interesting that she dressed as a man and her tomb was placed between the valley of kings and queens...almost as if to give note to her 'difference'
