Patty's back. Subsequently my ability to leave the house promptly has reached absolute zero. I am excited for next week, when we will do things like go to the beach, go to Shakespeare in the Park and probably also do a day trip to Cold Spring. I'd like to go to AC soon too.

We got the lease renewal for the apartment. All is well. Despite general drama in the neighborhood and the building with gentrification, buy-outs, harassment of tenants. But I made friends in the building this morning, and that's important.

I am obsessed with the miners missing in the collapse. I mean, where the hell are they? Land of the Lost? Makes me want to write creepy fiction.

I go to SF tomorrow.

Today? Contains not enough hours. And a fencing class I probably shouldn't go to. But....

Am thinking of buying a dress form because of possible impending bustle gown project and to use as target practice. Is that weird?

And in conclusion:

No. It's actually pretty cool.

(But if you get one, you *do* have to take some LOLDRESSFORMZ pictures XD )

The situation with the miners is god-awful. It's all a lot of Utahns are thinking about these days - Utahns including me. I check the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News Web sites hourly sometimes for any updates.

Problem is, they're buried so deep, I don't think anyone can conclusively tell where they are.

I have a dress form you could have, but it's probably a modern size 14 and cumbersome on the Fung Wah. I got it for $15 a long time ago at a thrift store. L. got his off the street and it looks a lot more medieval....

By the way, I haven't told you how happy I am for you and your love being together. It's a very nice thing.

Sound like two perfectly reasonable uses for a person-shaped object to me. But then, I'll be the first to admit I'm weird, so I don't know that it helps that I think it's reasonable.
