Oh, nonsense. You're an athelete; you're probably physiologically closer to Patty's age.
Just ignore those people. The state of medical/science reporting in the MSM is a disgrace anyway; as every doctor and scientist you know will tell you, they never get it right.

Ah, but your hair started to thin and your skin to wrinkle aged 20, so you were already doomed... I ponder the "accuracy" of their "science", somehow.
The figure for average life expectancy suprised me, 77 isn't that great, and then I went and found a chart which suggests we should all move to Japan and live to be 86 (female).
Um...I hear the world is going to hell in a handbasket. So, I'd rather die at 75, personally.
If you want to live longer, have fun ;) Just remember that the longer you live, the more health problems you'll get in the end. And it's apparently inhumane to put humans out of their misery (though, it's not inhumane to do this to pets).
As a person with serious health issues right bloody now, I get a little nervous about people saying I can't live and have fun in this wheelchair, and about "putting humans out of their misery" - every year there's a case of a caretaker murdering a disabled person and, almost always, getting away with it claiming it was a "mercy killing". Funny how there's never a note from the victim saying so.
Oh! No, doing that is murder in my eyes. I'm talking about where the patient is terminally ill and doesn't want to wait for their illness to kill them off, and would rather die in their sleep. I'm talking about that kind of euthanasia for people. The doctor assisted suicide where the doctor can prescribe the pills to take and its up to the patient to take them.
I suspect one of the side-effects of a country having longer-lived citizens could be that they are healthier and have a better health care system than the States. Healthier people living longer lives, sounds good to me :)
40 is looming like a grim reaper pointing a skeletal finger at a tombstone with my name on it, so I understand! My Mom died at 64 so when I turned 32 I already faced the fact that I was probably middle-aged. But you are taking life by the horns and that's the way to live, and when you do finally pass on, go out smokin'!!!!
Bullshit. We're still perfectly good organ donors - well, aside from any other health issues. I think the only thing actively slowing down is fertility and some cosmetic bits.
Anyway, I'm living for quality, not quantity, although I do intend to get us all cured of our various ills and cloned new bits and live as long as we damn well please.

I refuse to think that 68 is elderly.
Our parents would also vociferously deny that.

Was this supposedly middle age for women? Or just people in general?

Personally, if I make it to 77 i'll be a lucky duck. average age during the last 4 generations on my dad's side is less than 70.
