why I hate epinions

rmOver the years, I have made a surprisingly decent chunk of change via Epinions.com, mostly through writing movie reviews when I am bored, and reviewing gift items around this time of year.
However, I frequently want to strangle everything and everyone at Epinions, and so, I now offer you this rant.
It is absolutely absurd to rate movie reviews based on the number of plot details provided. I am sick of seeing reviews that shy assidusouly away from spoilers, but are otherwise well-written and address every aspect of the film from performance, to design to suspense, lowly rated.
As a corallary to this, I am sick of seeing reviews that insist on treating the reader as dumb, or get good ratings because someone bothered to do something as pointless as retyping information from the website.
Reviewing a DVD edition of one of the most popular films in the history of the world, should focus on the quality of the DVD image and transfer, extra features on the DVD and overall design of the set, and how the edition enhances or detracts from the film. Don't fucking rate me poorly because I didn't explain EVERY plot detail of a film that EVERYONE who has a slight interest in it has already seen.
