update

- picked up dry-cleaning
- did important work things
- called Oxford and now know the scoop on mamograms (I can get a baseline once I turn 35 and they will cover them until age 40 if the doctor calls in a referral. After 40 I get one a year, more with the doctor calling in). This was largely not stupid.
- asked on LJ (oi!) for mental health recs on the phobia thing.

I saw that.

Straight privilege, much? That was pretty sad--that guy's usually pretty aware.

I said "oi!" before that got said. And I thnk I restrained myself admirably. I mean really! And the idea that it would be embarassing to inquire? How offensive!

I found it ignorant. (That isn't to say ignorance isn't offensive.)

His reply to the replies was good. I thought everything was just ignorant except the embarassment question. I mean, I'm not embarassed to be gay, and it offends me that I'm expected to be.

Looks like you've had a tough couple of days. I hope things will be good with you and your Mom.
Good to know they caught it early.

A rough 12 hours. Although mom apparently got diagnosed while I was writing the book and only just told me.
