The Kite Runner (film) is very very good and weirdly complex and I will write a full review later eventhough most of you won't be able to see it for months. Also, based on what Patty says, much much better than the book.

For people friending me from therealljidol -- I'll be friending everyone back in the next 24 hours. I just want to do it in one swoop.

good friend nuclear_jesus read the book and highly recommended it. I did not know it was being made into a film and can't wait to see it.

Made into film, but due to a whole drama about a key plot point (child rape) and the children used in the film and how that would be perceived in their community, the release has been pushed back for months.

ah. I still haven't read the book and he didn't mention that part. If it gets released here, I suspect I'll have to hunt down the one of the very few theaters around here that would still show it.
