There was a boy on my floor in college who played live action roleplaying games. In one game, his character was kidnapped. He changed his answering machine message to say, "Hi. I'm not here because I have been kidnapped." During this period, he was interviewing for positions at some engineering firm. One of the engineers (Japanese, so perhaps there were language issues involved) called him back, heard the message, and called the police. Oh boy was it fun when the cops came knocking and he had to explain!
