I do take Peggy Noonan's comments with an ocean-sized grain of salt, as well as opinions from the Wall Street Journal. That being said, it is an interesting and illuminating read that seems to elevate Obama up even higher, while casting doubts on pretty much every action that Hillary Clinton could do. Perhaps that's the real reason for the piece--to put Hillary's actions in a no-win, Kobayashi Maru situation, while putting Obama's in a no-lose.

What did the Clintons do in SC?

I don't generally keep up with these kinds of things :$

I already know that I'm voting for Obama (already did last Tuesday), and if he doesn't make it to the Presidential election, I'm going to exercise my right not to vote. Because the other candidates will just fuck up the country anyways, so who cares?

To be honest, I don't know of the stance of any of the other candidates. I'm for Obama because he gives hope and against Hilary because she seems like a pushover. She seems waaaaaaaay to eager to please people (IE: people that are going to vote for her). From what I've read (I think in Newsweek or Time Magazine), she gives one speech about her stance to one group (feminists, I think?) and a completely different speech to a different group (the fundies/right wing nutters, I think). That doesn't really give me great confidence in how much of what she says she'll do is true.

Not to mention, she's been here for the last 8 years, and I have yet to see anything that she's done for us (NYS) so far. The Universal Health Care thing bombed. I'm not sure if she's has that plan for if people are stuck on stupid enough to vote her for president she becomes president, but if she does, that also says she's not the brightest bulb in the pack. You know, considering that Universal Health Care *failed* in NYS.

I've read in a few of the articles you've given me (well, your entire flist, really, not just *me* personally) that she has waaaay too many enemies in the Republican party to actually do anything *useful* in the presidency. Not to mention, I don't trust her to keep any "secrets" I wouldn't want countries knowing about, considering that she freely has told people that she's written a check for $5 million for herself.
I find myself questioning what else she'd be willing to tell people.
Maybe I'm paranoid, but I kind of feel her telling the world about the $5 mil is like telling everyone a security breech in the US; a security breech that hasn't been fixed yet (or maybe even *has* no plans to get fixed). That's kind of how *I* feel when I realize that other people know how hard I fail at managing my money, but that's due to my own emotional issues regarding money and the validity of spending it.

Speaking of valid spending, I'm not sure if Hilary is spending her money validly for the amount she started out with, since I have no idea how much she started out with, or what all she spent it on. However, I figure that if she has to spend $5 mil. of her *own* money, that can't possibly be a good sign. On one hand, that gives me hope that if she's the president, she won't waste the country's money on killing off our soldiers in a new version of 'Nam, on the other hand, that tells me that she might not *have* very much money sense.

Now, I know that *I* don't have good money sense, but I want the president to know the value of a dollar. Or at least a fiver, since a dollar doesn't even *have* a value in some states (or so I imagine, given that California has one of the highest costs of living in the US).
