This is perhaps my silliest reason to like Obama, but the word "ebullient" is used in a headline on his web page. That's the sort of word people complain about in my writing as being too hard. I like a campaign that enjoys language and doesn't think we're idiots.

I think that's a good reason to like a particular candidate. Well, as long as it's not your only reason. ;-)

Under normal circumstnaces I'd be saying something about having good speechwriters, or some such, but I just can't. I like this guy, and he has made a good impression on me over the last few weeks. He doesn't seem like the type to lean on speech writers.

Choosing the candidate that's willing to buck the US' general anti-intellectualism doesn't seem all that stupid to me. In fact, I consider that a quite rational point in his favor.

It's a little detail, but a telling one. The sort of thing that makes me feel like I would actually be voting for Obama, instead of just against McCain (or whoever else the Repubs run).

After listening (and cringing) to 8 years of Bush-isms, I'm heartened to know that our next President can actually use three-syllable words correctly. :c)

I cannot imagine anyone ever thinking a word too hard...(choke)

Ebullient is not a hard word

Obdurate, that's a hard word. Or adamantine, or even herculean. Those are hard.

But ebullient? That's more of a gushing word, don't you think?
