- biggest thrill about being a Dragon*Con guest? Richard Hatch is one too! You don't understand, but classic Battlestar Galactica was essentially my first fandom, although granted, I had no one else to talk to about it and I was like 7. But when I watch Apollo and Starbuck walk down the halls of the Galactica in their snazzy (I was 7! It was the '70s! Cut me some slack) uniforms, aside from thinking a 7-year-old's equivlent of slashy thoughts, I thought "now that is charisma."

- Hey, spam from Amma! Yay. After last year's weirdness, I'm so going back for the seuqel. I remember wondering going into it is she would register what my often non-singularness, and what I got was her essentially mentioning Mairome. Still seriously WTF, there.

I think Mr. Nossik and LJ have made some major missteps.

I also think that there is a correct response when apologies are offered and clarifications are made, and a willingness to take a new look at bad decisions has been shown. Graciously accepting and being willing to have a reasonable dialog about it would be the useful response. Some of the vitriol and abuse in response to both of these posts is sad. I applaud the people who have not let them off the hook but can keep asking the hard questions in a polite manner.

so...from the comments on nossik's post, i gather that he's not officially affiliated with SUP but they're using him in marketing because he's some russian media whore? his apology sounds pretty insincere to me.

I apologized to an individual I corroborate with over a lunch meeting today. Skipping boring details, my decision forced him to do some extra work. He was right, I was wrong, I sucked it up and admitted it, we moved on. So... next... Mr. Nossik...
