Also, because the postal regulations aren't actually written in English -- can I, or can I not ship chocolates and/or home baked goods that will not spoil in transit to England?

My Mom often sends stuff like that to me in London. We've never had a problem, but I don't know if we're actually supposed to do it.

You have to list what is in the package when you get there. Just be prepared to massage your answer to something that will not raise eyebrows or cause your package to be ripped open. As long as you are not making it on a farm, and exposing the British population to hoof and mouth disease, you should be fine. I always put boxed cookies. They are in a box, right? ;o)
