- Have just done the preliminary stuff for one part of Plan B if the Germans fuck me over again, as seems likely at this second. I am calm. I feel responsible. Oh the illusion of having a personal banker is nice. And trust me -- I'm ass broke -- it is an illusion.

- Am wearing my wings. If anyone at fencing dares to make a flight attendant joke, I will put my fist in their face. Really.

- Associated Content finally gave me offers on the latest batch of stuff I had submitted.

- Dinner last night was lovely. It is ridiculous how happy we are.

- Tomorrow night, I am doing an event with The Group That Shall Not Be Named. Come one, come all. Books for sale! Debut of trivia questions from forthcoming book two!

- Patty is probably going to do a dig in Oman in part of January - part of March. While in some ways that sucks a little because it's so soon after Syria, it's actually really great, because the site relates to her area of specialization; she'll miss the NYC weather she hates the most; and after she gets back we'll probably have about 14 - 15 months before her next dig and she'll finally get to do summer in New York. While I always hate to have her away (I think I made some assinine comment last night about war brides and she responded about being a fencing widow), I am actually really excited about this. It feels like the right rhythm for our lives. Meanwhile, it's about two weeks to Syria for her and Sicily for me.

- Some people are in the Doctor Who fandom for the fart jokes. Some people are in it for the long, lingering sadness. Gee, sounds like Harry Potter, eh?

- I have a lot of domestic airline tickets I need to get on about getting: Chicago for me, and Atlanta for Patty and I. Traveling stresses me out so much. But I like the idea of it. It has a rightness for me. And I'll muddle through the rest of it.

- Woke up with the overwhelming urge to dine with fabulous people at the Algonquin. Have no idea why. Have never, actually, had that urge before.

- Saw someone from the Hewitt days on Facebook. She looks the same. I find I am still afraid of her. Although we were friends.

- Sentence structure: still fucked from Face of Boe fic.

- Book. Oh god. Book.

- Lesbian werewolf story. Maybe I need to tell it from the point of view of the wolves in the stone boxes?

- Gluten-free black and white cookie rulez!

Ellen Page and Olivia Thirlby have been petitioning to get a lesbian werewolf movie made.

Are you serious?

Hhaahah. This is for an anthology a friend is editing. And it's kicking my butt. But since I've had so much fanfiction success with using disconnected non-human voices lately, now I'm like, hey wolves.

Highly recommended!

I think it's your fault. Well that and a combination of the fictional worlds of present interest.

Oh, it's definitely my fault. When I wrote that entry, I thought to myself, "[livejournal.com profile] rm will love this!"

I didn't know that you are a part of the Group That Shall Not Be Named group too. A couple of my good friends are going to be going to Trivia Night. Small world in the HP fandom, isn't it?

Very. By virtue of being so huge!

Isn't just abut any fandom kinda like that?

I don't know, honestly. My only other ones of any note is the whole World of Riverside thing, which is pretty consistent on where it stands (probably because it's small) and the Kushiel-verse which I keep not delving into too much because the people give me a headache.

I'm not very deep into Hitchhiker's Guide, Star Trek, or Red Dwarf fandoms (or Star Control II for that matter!), but the glances I've given seem to indicate the same sort of variation in motive. How literal the fart jokes are kind of varies though. ;)

May I ask what Patty's area of work is? And/or if she has an LJ which I have forgotten about? I miss archeology.

[livejournal.com profile] wordsofastory but she doesn't post much. And she's focused on Indus civilizations. I'd attempt to say something about her masters thesis about bangles and status, but I'd probably muck it up.

You have a facebook? Mind if I friend you? (And I'm quite all right with hearing "no" to that one, what with fandom/RL separations, etc.)

I do, although lord knows why.

Feel free to. Remember, I try to live an entirely fictional life, and fandom is sort of my job now... so whatever those lines are I surely don't know them.

Jedi mind trick FTW!

Indeed you do, from a place where a Chococat terrorizes us twice weekly.
