- On the way to the subway the strap on my fencing bag snapped. Luckily, I have a much better sense of how to navigate with the thing and way less embarrassment about dragging the huge thing on the subway. Also, I hate that bag and will be happy to get a new one soon.

- ipod! The world is different when you're stalking through it listening to creepy Nordic music.

- ipod! The idea that I was going to watch Torchwood's second season on the ipod on the subway to waste less time? Predicated on the idea that I can balance the inner and outer world, not laugh (or gasp) out loud and not miss my stop. Er, got 15 minutes into Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and discovered I was made of fail. Would you believe me if I also noted this episode has stellar pacing and timing? Also, what is going on with that Hussar jacket they've got Marsters in? Is it supposed to be entirely wrong? Finally, I bet that set is waaaaay too much fun.

- ipod! Playlists so far: Descensus, Torchwood, Mairome. You'd probably say "wtf?" to what's in all of them, but it's making my world work.

- Fencing tonight. Last fencing class before Sicily, in fact, although I am going to drop in on people on Friday to give my weapons to Michael.

- Too little sleep.

- Got assigned more articles on shoe construction. Hey. It pays for the glamorous lifestyle (*eye roll*)

Is there a secret way to get ahold of the second season easily?

You can buy it on itunes for $1.99 an ep. I'm also pretty sure you can get illegal copies on YouTube but it's like five files per episode, but I know at least one person who did that.

Idle question...
Would a secondary bag be useful to you?

I have one that looks like this (but in grey and black, not red):

The odds of that surviving our gear is pretty debatable, which is one of the problems with the whole historical/classical thing. I think I'm going to have to give in and get a golf bag (which is the solution a lot of people use) or one from a guy in the community (I almost said 'scene'!) who has started a little side business.

Yes, god, thank you, and it's sitting on our dining room table in that "I have a plan, I really do" way that most of my costuming projects seem to suffer from.

Similarly, walking around Newark Airport Terminal B with a soundtrack consisting of The Dresden Dolls, makes the whole experience much more, well, congruent.

This?

"The world is different when you're stalking through it listening to creepy Nordic music."

Needs to be a tag line. I LOL'd when I read it.

Out of curiosity, what's your musical list for Descensus?

Marry Me - Emilie Autumn
the fourth and fifth figures of the Royal Scotch Quadrille as performed by Spare Parts
a bunch of songs by Hedingarna that we've coopted as "goblin music"
Lepcis Magna by E.S. Posthumas (it's the soundtrack of the movie trailer in our heads!)

Have you thought of uploading any of these to Muxtape so we can all listen to them? (';

Kali and I are doing a mix for the Malfoy/Black wedding in Descensus and I'm actually working on a Torchwood fst because the community's theme this month is organizations. So yes.

You're right; I do say wtf...
But you're (are/were) listening to E.S. Posthumus, so you're forgiven. :)
