photo sampling
Giaccomo the angry pony who lives at a papyrus farm in Siracusa.
A wedding in Comiso. (This is one of my favorite shots -- view a bigger one here).
Boys on bikes riding past a store that sells "Hot Doogs" in Catalgirone (their typo, no mine -- larger version).
One of two abandoned churches we found in Scicli. I became fascinated by the way the light shone through from the missing side windows to create crosses in the interior. That's my friend Eric kneeling as he tries to get a photo too. This day is a long story for later, as that place went from being fun to totally creeping me out and then we found a bone that may have been human....
Pigeon living in a wall in Noto.
Posters in Ragusa featuring the animal trainer from a circus coming to town.
A church in Modico as seen from a moving car. While this church is in the same baroque style as most of the builfings I photographed, the statues outside this one particularly moved me. There was something I found odd and unsettling about them, and they were a detail I hadn't seen anywhere else.
I think this was shot in Ispica, but I'm not sure. We were lost on our way to Noto.
I may hate that I was not made for the same clean lines as the men I fence with and my hair is a bitch, but I'm on top of a fotress built to defend against the Saracens!

We'd asked each other in hushed, horrified tones, "Do you think she's a singer?"
