- Letter from Patty. Which was absolutely, positively opened, read and resealed by the Syrian government. But very very exciting and sort of hilarious since the letter includes a bit of naughtiness and phrases like "since we're now sure our mail isn't being read." I assume they were just scanning for certain key words, like Israel, which archaeologists call Disneyland there, because you can't say it. No, really.

- Because my Googlefoo isn't working and I'm 100% sure one of you will have the answer without much effort: need a good online resource as regards the life of women in Britain (particularly Wales, particularly Cardiff if you've anything that specific) in the years immediately following WWI.

- This weeks' non-glamorous freelancing: an article series on disabilities and abusive relationships.

- Argh, I wish the Times would print the letter already because I want to talk about it.

" We're now sure our mail isn't being read. And you can tell that to the Marines."

I guess because you and I discuss Torchwood so much, I now have a thought to write a letter from Jack to Algy (an officer he was having a relationship with during the Empty Child) that is encoded in seemingly innocuous language, but is in fact extraordinarily raunchy.

Oh you should! I've seen one Algy fic ever (and I'm not sure I could find it again), that was sort of slight and very sad. Also that's mortal and relatively unredeemed Jack at that point in time, which is whole 'nother thing.
