- Having woken up exhausted and with the phrase "Jesus Christ, it's a lion, get in the car!" stuck in my head, I have decided (with some agonizing) not to go to fencing, but to do laundry and rest instead. I'll be there Friday. And it's not like there hasn't been significant training afoot lately and upcoming.

- redstapler reminds me with her post that I too saw the blimp this morning, and sighed airship. Geek or just really tired?

Because I've got ASL on the brain and I knew you'd studied it, I read that as "and signed airship". I was like, "Dude! I need to learn the sign for airship!" I checked both online ASL video dictionaries for airship, blimp, dirigible, and zeppelin, but none of 'em had entries. Pfui.

By an idiot coincidence, about 25 years ago, I once asked a friend who knew ASL better than I did (neither of us was deaf) this.
Unfortunately, my informant was also a Kainai (Blood) Indian, who knew North American Prairie Sign Language("Indian sign language," like The Boy Scouts used to teach?)
He promptly made the signs for "sky" "canoe!" Smart ass.

That's cool as fuck. I wonder if it will be as prone to falling out of teh sky and helicopters (when I was learning to fly there was also a helicopter school at my airport and my instructor was awlays like "This shit is safe. That shit is NOT SAFE. Do not fly helicopters. You will die!"
