- I know it is just PMS. I know it is just gluten poisoning. I know it is just not enough sleep and a lot of stress, but my ability to cope right now is extremely limited and I don't like it.

- I saw Gridlock from DW, series 3 last night and despite knowing all the spoilers, it fucking broke me.

Gridlock may be my favorite S3 episode. (Not including the Master arc, obvs.)

It's easily overlooked, but there's just so much to it. RTD did an amazing job fleshing out all the various characters so that you really gave a damn.

The bit where they all sing? Makes me sob every time.

The whole thing was just so beautifully done.

Am getting close to draft of first part of HP/Who fic to send to you and Sam. Where shall I send it?

When she lifts the blanket off the basket so her kittens can see the sun for the first time?

jvfriedman at gmail dot com, please! ^_^

And oh god, the kittens! And the sun! And the...the...::sobs:::

Although if I start wondering about carrying kittens in a human body and how that birth went I start to get shakey and then I have to lie down with a cool cloth for my brow.

Well, Zapp Captain Brannigan is a humanoid feline, so presumably...

Wait. I've got nothing.

MAYBE THEY WERE ADOPTED? IN A 30 YEAR FLYING TRAFFIC JAM?

...

[identity profile] redstapler.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, whatever the story is, those were some damn cute kittens.

Trufax. I was sort of heartbroken when Tennant said he didn't really like animals on an interview show. Did you see that? Catherine Tate's response was pure genius.

[livejournal.com profile] rm, sorry we're spamming up your LJ.

[identity profile] redstapler.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, Catherine Tate and the ginger kitten! That was pure awesome.

[identity profile] imaginarycircus.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
When she was explaining about the cat with bottom problems I nearly died. Tennant is sitting their with this shocked smile on his face and is not moving the whole time.

That and when they see the sun.

The way this show is both the most depressing shit ever and does joy so well....

Also I think part of the flip out was that it was New York, in its way.

[identity profile] redstapler.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
There is always a New York. <3

I'm sorry you are having such a crap time right now. I hope it passes quickly.

Gridlock is an amazing episode.

[identity profile] stardragonca.livejournal.com 2008-07-18 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Old, Old, etc. Jack saves New, New, etc. York. Yeah.

I hope you feel better soon.

For me, season 3 is just full of fucking gut rippers. I mean, I was really sad when Eccleston regenerated, and the finale of season 2 was bad, but damn. I ordered the box set of season 3 the other day finally and I'm confident it says 'watch with kleenex' on the front.

Human Nature and Blink should just put you right over the edge, for different reasons.

Yes. All of it. I haven't dared watch it again since getting spoiled regarding Boe. And I had forgotten until I read the comments here about the singing.

Season 3, now with 30% more pathos and joy!

I hold that episode totally responsible for me getting all must-have-kitten-y, and thus bringing home Mirah the very, very bad biting kitty.

I remember being really teary watching it the first time.

Neither is "just," and I mean that on more than one level.

Let yourself wallow for a bit if needed. Can't think of anyone who deserves to let go more than you do right now.

Be well,
M

As a gut sufferer (though not as bad as those with Celiac) OMG - there is not "just gluten poisoning".

No wonder you are out of cope.

My empathy in this!

I know that when my partner's been away, I get more and more ancy the closer the time for him to return comes.

It's OK to be out of cope occasionally.
