- You know, I keep trying to come up with the conclusion to my sentence that starts, "It's hard to be bitter about not being at Comic Con when...." but the lack of discretion that necessarily completes the sentence sort of prohibits me from going there. So that's all you get.

- They lost Patty's luggage.

- I know I have good genes and don't particularly worry about aging, so my perspective might be off, but seriously?

I have been trying so hard not to be jealous about all the folks at Comic Con. I had planned to go with a friend, but it fell through. It's becoming increasingly hard to rise above my baser nature with every squee filled post of pics and videos that appears on my friendslist, though.

I have a lot of inner conflict about what is totally appropriate, but sort of foreign to me fan behavior at events of this scale (the rock star thing really freaks me out), so while I'm bummed not to be there, I know that I would have been uncomfortable and overwhelmed in general (I'm gregarious as hell, but not an extrovert, and that I would have been working would have meant that I'd have to hide in my room a lot to recharge). Also, seriously, I can't imagine having to have waited another three days to see Patty.

I'm terrible in crowds, in lines, surrounded by noise, in overwhelming circumstances, etc., so part of me knows I'd be out of my depth. And I'm not super demonstrative - I'm actually very reserved in person, although I like meeting people. But I am a bit wistful that I didn't get to have the experience, even though it might've been a bit much. Mostly because I don't know anyone irl who shares my fandom obsessions, and it would've been fun to socialize with people who do.

I feel so blessed that my local circle of friends have largely gotten on the whole TW/DW thing and that we've been running around to historic dance and cabaret nights in ridiculous outfits with our own special time travelling narratives. It's been a very funny summer.
