stupid squee

Dragon*Con sched is out.

I've been slightly verklempt as we're off in the Sheraton, which is a few blocks from the other hotels.

BUT. We're the Brittrack hotel!

Of course, the programming I'm on is all over.

But dude.

Also, unrelatedly: apparently there's a Browncoat Shindig with barn dancey type stuff. *squee*

Also: Moulin Rouge cosplay meetup!

Also: OH man, I am so sad I've banned myself from DW/TW cosplay at this con. Because OMG so many people and so few TW folks. But rules is rules. I'll coo over people and take pictures.

I was posting that thinking "this is for Jill."

I've actually amended my goal to something far less scandalous and far more hilarious, but I'm still hoping for a chance at the original goal. I'm not going to say no if the opportunity presents itself. ;)

Oh yeah. I think we're all in it for the WTF?!?! factor at this point. And the one thing I have faith in is that even when plans go awry with me, something batshit usually happens.

OMG BARNDANCE?!!?

::flails::

I guess "calico dress" is also on the docket for purchase today...

(I'm having brunch with [livejournal.com profile] airspaniel and her lad, then trying to fit Dragon*Con last minutes, with hopefully a trip to the gym, and then possibly dinner with the parentals. Let me know if you're interested in the shopping bit!)

No time. Laundry, work, fashion show.

But yes, Browncoat Barn Dance.

I am crazed with happiness. It seems every stunnign thing I want to do is not conflicting with other shit for me, which is amazing in and of itself.

In the next day or two I'll send you guys all teh details of hotel, $$, our flight arrivals and so forth.

I've also been warned that for civilians badge pickup can take hours. FYI.

Break a leg at the fashion show! I'm v. sorry I'm missing it. :(

The fact that you said *squee* and that's our pug's name makes it funny on 2 levels, as I'm sure you recognize. *goblin*

Excellent pug name! XD

Speaking as someone that has been at DC for the past 7 years - if there's an event that you want to go to (like the dance you mentioned) - plan to get to its room at least 1 hour in advance. If its a popular event - it's not uncommon to wait on line two hours or more.

The Sheraton isn't really that far away from the other hotels - theres a nice habit trail from the Hyatt - through the malls food court - through to the Hilton and the Sheraton is near the Hilton.

If you are doing costuming - take a bag with some walking type shoes in them with you. Walking five city blocks in spike heals and wearing a hoop skirt really sucked in August Atlanta heat.

Have a great time - I'm skipping this year myself - the crowds really bugged me last year and I didn't feel like dealing this year.

I don't actually know you but I've followed your lj for something like 5 years. I'll be at dragon con and I would love to meet you (is that weird?). Are you on any panels or anything?

Not weird.

If you scroll back a bit, I posted my panel schedule.

I'm on an HP adult fanfic panel on Friday at 11:30. Considering what time we are leaving NY to get there and the nature of y schedule that day, probably not the best day ti catch me, because I might be seriously travel/sleep deprivation cranky.

Queer themes in YA on Saturday at 10 and I'm judging the YA costume contest on Sunday from 5:30 - 7:30.

Otherwise, I'll be in the audience for all the TW/DW panels and haven't otherwise ascertained what we'll be doing when.

I'll pst a more finalized schedule when I have a sense of meetups/parties and stuff I'll be going to before we head down.
