It's apparently from between takes. So it's not a spoiler. But it will make some of you (read: Jack/Ianto people) laugh like idiots. The people on the Gallifrey One boards are all like "what's the narrative there?" and I had to share because you guys are more fun to talk to.

The reasonable non-fangirlishy side of my brain says there's had to be a logical explanation (like non tobacco smoking ?) but the sick RPS fan in me is screaming gutter material stuffs

Yes, because Jack and Ianto might have some legitimate script-related reason for doing this, whereas John and Gareth are just screwing with us. XD

I'd definitely prefer the sick RPS gutter material explanation.

I really think there are only two reasonable explanations:

1. The thing that sucks the most about filming is the weather. It's never the season you're dressed for. I think it's entirely possible GDL was just really damn cold and JB was being a gentleman in a ridiculous way.

2. They were getting stoned (is all the suspicious looks, and whatever gets passed between them in the last shot).
