stroke updates

I'd really like to have something else to talk about.

My father's functionality remains about the same. However, he had another cat scan and they found that the area where the bleeding had occurred was now more saturated with blood, meaning that they need to give him more platelets and his hospital stay is now looking to be at least until the end of the week, but even that is a guess, not a prediction. It's not the doctors saying when he might go home, but just when he's definitely not.

Tired, cranky. It was a hard weekend, and I was short-tempered especially as we put the bed together last night, although I think a good night sleep helped both of us.

The stuff with my parents is complicated because I'm an only and I have such a screwy relationship with them.

It was at the end of a long rant about how fucked up shit has been lately.

Short version: pretty minor stroke, but he's well into his 70s and in bad health so it's also serious in his way. HIs speech is still slurred and his facial muscles are affected, but he can walk and move both sides of his body, but everyone's pretty clear this could be the start of a long process.
